APRIL 2  CHAPTER MEETING 10 AM

APRIL 3  Katz’s Deli Detail Day, NYC 10 AM
Ride Leader: Anthony Wartel

"Where's your Moses now, see? You've been in this desert too long, see?" Ok, so we're not in the desert fleeing Egypt with Edward G. Robinson, but we are going to a nice Jewish deli. And they just made the papers for having the tallest pastrami sandwich at three and a half inches tall! It's Katz's Deli. We will tour New York City for a while until lunchtime.

We'll avoid the heat and fumes of the tunnels and cruise across the George Washington Bridge, find our way through the city down Park Avenue, drive thru the Pan Am Building at 42nd Street, into the Park Avenue South tunnel and take a photo op at The Wall Street Bull. Then we can eat. We’ll pick up a sandwich and a drink, pack it in our bags and head over to Manhattan Lexus where Ken Wartel will open the garage for us. After lunch we clean and detail our bikes to a fine shine. Bring your cleaning supplies !

APRIL10  Morris Mansions, NJ 10 AM
Ride Leader: Bob Anderson

If you like rolling tree lined roads, horse farms and country estates, this is the run for you. We leave Willowbrook and head south and then west through Morris County - Chatham, New Vernon, Mendham and Far Hills with a butt rub in Chester. Then on through Pottersville and Califon winding up in Long Valley for lunch at the Long Valley Pub & Brewery for “hand-crafted ales and bold American fare”. The Pub is nestled at the foot of Schooley's Mountain in a restored 200 year old barn.

APRIL 17
The Castle at Greenwood Lake, NY 10 AM
Ride Leader: Don Mitchell

This ride has a combination of twisting roads, elevation changes, views of mountains, lakes and an occasional vista of New Jersey's rolling mountains.  There are even a few beaches, but they'll be empty. Be prepared for some noticeable temperature changes along the route, especially near the reservoirs and on a few of the roads surrounded by pine trees.  There will be a few sections where we can open up the throttle, but the winding roads on some of the sections of the route will keep us on our toes (and in 4th gear) for portions of the ride.  Most of the ride will be in Morris and Passaic counties getting just inside the New York border to The Castle at Greenwood Lake where we will stop for lunch.

APRIL 24 Jockey Hollow, NJ  10 AM
Ride Leader: Anthony Wartel

For anyone who was a Boy Scout in NJ, you will recall the annual 17 Mile Hike through Washington's Headquarters at Jockey Hollow and on into Morristown. In celebration of George's bitter cold stay here in New Jersey, we will make our first run in and around his camp, through the Great Swamp and then settle in at The Minute Man Restaurant in Harding Township for some lunch and great pie ala mode! We leave Willowbrook and wind our way towards the Swamp, cross over to Jockey Hollow and then swing back for some food. There will a stop for some stretching of the winter bones and gas for those Sportys along the way.
