ELECTIONS

ELECTION OF PRIMARY OFFICERS

In November each year, we nominate and elect four Primary Officers for the club for the following year: Director, Assistant Director, Secretary and Treasurer. Additional officer positions are described below, but these positions are appointed by the Director and are not elected by the general membership.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR PRIMARY OFFICERS

Director

Must have served on the Board in any capacity (elected or appointed) for the year immediately preceding the election.

 

Assistant Director, Secretary and Treasurer

Club member for 6 months prior to nomination meeting in November.

 

NOMINATIONS

Nominations for the 4 Primary Officers will take place at the November general membership meeting at Essex County H-D. Candidates must be nominated

by a club member and the nomination seconded by a club member.

 

VOTING ELIGIBILITY

In order to be eligible to vote for Primary Officers, a member must have attended at

least 4 official club functions (meetings, rides, events) during the riding season (April 1 thru October 31).

 

THE ELECTION

If eligible, you may vote at the November general membership meeting following the

nominations or anytime throughout the month of November. Ballots will be mailed to those eligible members that do not attend the November meeting in the event that more than one person is nominated for the same office.

 

ADDITIONAL OFFICERS

Additional officers may be appointed by the Director at any time the Director deems them necessary. The appointment must be approved by at least one other elected Primary

Officer. These appointments can be terminated at any time with the approval of at least one other elected Primary Officer. Appointments are for the year in which they are made and terminate on December 31st of that year.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADDITIONAL OFFICERS

Assistant Directors (up to 3), Activities Officer, Safety Officer, Historian, Photographer, Ladies of Harley, Editor, Membership Officer, Webmaster.

Club member for 6 months prior to appointment.

 

Head Road Captain

Road Captain for 1 year immediately prior to appointment. Completed Experienced

Rider MSF course within last 6 years.

 

Additional Road Captains

Club member for 6 months prior to appointment. Completed Experienced

Rider MSF course within last 6 years.

meet once a month to plan activities for your club. We are always looking for

new ideas for rides and events. We encourage you to think about running for office or express interest in an appointed position. Be a part of your club’s leadership.
