JULY 24  Zinn Farm, PA 9 AM
Ride Leader: Bob Anderson
THIS IS A BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH RIDE.
My Cedar Grove neighbor, Harris Zinn will be our host at his family tree farm in PA. Located just west of the Delaware River in Tyler Hill, this 180 acre, former diary farm has been in the family for 37 years. Aside from the obvious - trees, the farm features rustic barns, ponds and large scale, outdoor sculpture that Harris fashions out of found objects and cut steel into his “farm companions”. The newest addition is a full size Teepee.  Harris will supply sodas and coffee and may throw a few chicken wings on the barbie. Parking conditions will be soft so pack something to rest your kickstand on. Be Alert – the 1 mile road into the farm is packed red shale with a downgrade and three “dead man bumps” – across the road for water flow. The trip up will follow RT 23 to Port Jervis, then RT 97 along the Delaware. After a quick stop to cross the Roebling Bridge and see Zane Gray’s house, we cross into PA at  Narrowsburg following the river in the Tyler Hill area.

JULY 31  Lake Wallenpaupack, PA  9 AM
Ride Leader: Bob Anderson

We’ll head northwest to the historic Dingman Ferry bridge (have $.75 ready for the toll). After a butt rub along the Delaware, we head north to the lake traveling through the Delaware Forest. Lake Wallenpaupack is 13 miles long, built in 1927 for hydroelectric power. Lunch will be at the Boathouse or Erhardt’s Waterfront Restaurant. The return journey will take us through the Sussex area.
