SAFETY CHECK 1

SAFETY CHECK by Ken Wartel, Safety Officer

Holy Harley…the mercury hit 59 degrees on February 15th! Pretty good sign that it’s getting close to waking up the hogs. Not only is it time to shake out the cobwebs from the bikes, but from us as well. With that in mind, it’s also time to start thinking seriously about taking the Advanced Rider Safety Course. In the last three years our club has been fortunate to graduate thirty-one members, myself included, from this all-inspiring course offered by New Jersey Rider Education. I would bet every piece of chrome that I own that you would get nothing but rave reviews from all of us who have stepped up to the task of honing our riding skills. The course is limited to twelve (12) members at a time and requires a full day commitment from you. I would first like to offer spots to those whom have not been fortunate enough to ever take the class before. However, since it is a good idea to retake the course every three years, I will extend the invitation to those whom have not taken the course since the 2001 riding season, provided the twelve spots are not take by any first-timers Since many of us are anxious to participate once again I kindly ask that you please email me with your intentions ASAP! I do not have a date or location as of yet but I will by the next Newsletter. The course has been seventy-five dollars and I don’t expect any increases this year. Fifty bucks comes back your way in the form of Harley Dollars that you can use on anything your little hog desires at Steele’s plus a 20% discount courtesy of Glenn Steele. The benefits of the course are priceless! If I got your engine revved up then don’t hesitate and send me a quick email to Softale2000@aol.com . Hope to hear from you soon. And remember….ride safe and ride often. Oh yea…one more thing..please watch those nasty craters all over the roads these days. My car and me were almost swallowed alive the other night!
